That is why, along with our low-impact, off-grid manufacturing work shop (100% solar-powered) and locally sourced timber that has done very few travel miles, BEDurVEG – hardwood timber garden beds have been producing environmentally friendly and ethical, locally made products since 2012.
BEDurVEG – hardwood timber garden beds grew out of our family’s own search for a product for organic raised container growing. We wanted to grow a diversity of veggies, flowers, fruit, and herbs without the chemicals, plastics, or highly industrialised manufactured steel products.
To avoid these pitfalls as well as imports and CCA treated timber, we ended up designing and building from the ground up our own design that we trusted could grow our family’s vegies organically and ethically with a robust aesthetically pleasing natural raised timber garden bed.
Realising that we had the most beautiful, durable, and sustainable product NOT available on the market, we went back to the drawing board, modified and improved our design so that we could share our products to make them available for the discerning grower.
For over 10 years now and thousands of garden beds later we are still at it because our passion for growing food has grown too!
From our own humble beginnings as novice gardeners, we now grow the bulk of our family’s fruit, vegetables, flowers and herbs.
